Last tuesday 21 March was a national holiday in Japan because of the equinox. I wonder if any other country has a day off on this date? I'm pretty sure I came across equinox in my school textbooks though much of what I learnt in school have pretty much escaped my brain a long time ago. Anyway, I lookked up equinox on wikipedia to refresh my memory. There was nothing much apart from the scientific explanations though which was a little disappointing. I was expecting to find more on history and how it's tied with myth and legend, culture etc, just like the eclipse of the sun and moon, that would be fascinating reading, doubtless I'll find it somewhere else on the internet.
